Crowdfund assistive typing for mobile devices
Startup Asia was 2-day conference organised by Tech in Asia, Asia’s largest English-language technology and startup blog.
A 24-hour hackathon was simultaneously running with over 85 developers, 32 teams and 13 sponsored challenges to build products using partner companies’ APIs and SDKs. Three overall champions out of 14 finalists was selected during final round on May 17.
The Brief
StarHub, Singapore’s second largest telco launched Crowdtivate as the world’s first telco-backed crowdfunding platform. It is designed as an open platform for entrepreneurs and artists to create awareness on their ideas as well as seek funding from their supporters. As part of their awareness campaign, Crowdtivate seeks for interesting B2C product suitable for crowdfunding under following categories: Creative/Arts/Books/Films; Technology or Assistive Technology.

From basic concept prototype, we further develop our idea into real mobile application and participated in Singapore StartupAsia Hackathon event.

Our application won both StarHub Assistive Technology challenge and received 2nd prize. The judges who made the call were IIPL’s investment manager Zach Tan, All Deals Asia’s co-founder Goh Yiping, and Jungle Ventures’ operating partner Thomas Gorissen. We were also featured as one of the project launched under StarHub “Crowdtivate” initiative. Our first release has been published in Google App Store.
